Sooji Halwa Proportions
Sooji Halwa is typically prepared in large quantities on religious occasions or holidays. If you want to make an extensive amount and want to make the maximum amount, there's a specific amount you have to follow.
The ratio to suji and water in relationship to Ghee equals 1:1:2:0.5 in the cup or glass amount. I slightly alter the ratio in order to add the smallest amount of Ghee but using smaller amounts of than sugar.
- Sugar - To make 1 cup sooji (or Rava) I'd recommend that you add 2/3 or 3/4 cups in sugar. This means you'll find that suji Halwa isn't as sweet , or less sweet. Sugar makes a cup of quite a sweet and sweet taste.

- Water I've added 2.5 cup of water per Cup of Suji. You can include 2 cups water. The amount of water you add can be increased depending on its quality and whether you desire the consistency of the pudding.
Suji's proportion of water to Ghee can be found at 1:1:2:0.5 in a glass or cup measure. I slightly vary from this ratio and use less Ghee as well as sugar.
- Sugar For 1 cup of sooji, I suggest adding 2/3 or 3/4 cup sugar. Thus, the suji Halwa has less sweetness or is sweeter. 1 cup of sugar can give the most sweet taste.
- Ghee I add 2/3 cup of ghee to each Cup of Suji. I find that 2/3 cup is a sufficient amount of ghee. Increase or decrease the amount of ghee, based on what you like.
- water I have added 2.5 cups of water for 1 cup of Suji. You can add 2 cups water. The amount of water you use can be increased depending on your preference of the quality of curry as well depending on the consistency of the pudding.
